肥薩線は2020年から2025年にかけての度重なる豪雨災害の影響で

八代~葉木 及び 一勝地~人吉 は代行タクシーによる運転、

吉松~隼人 は代行バスによる運転となっています。

また 葉木~一勝地 及び 人吉~吉松 は代行輸送を含め運転していません。

八代~人吉 は2033年度、吉松~隼人 は2026年6月末の鉄道での復旧を予定してまいすが、

人吉~吉松 の復旧見込みは立っていません。

Due to the impact of repeated heavy rain disasters between 2020 and 2025,

the Hisatsu Line is currently operating with substitute taxi service between “Yatsushiro ~ Haki”, and between “Isshochi ~ Hitoyoshi”,

while substitute bus service is in place between “Yoshimatsu ~ Hayato”.
Additionally, no service—including substitute transportation—is operating between “Haki ~ Isshochi”, or between “Hitoyoshi ~ Yoshimatsu”.
Rail service is scheduled to resume between “Yatsushiro ~ Hitoyoshi” in fiscal year 2033, and between “Yoshimatsu ~ Hayato” by the end of June 2026;

however, there is currently no estimated timeline for the restoration of service between “Hitoyoshi ~ Yoshimatsu”.
